This light, energy efficient kiln is ideal for home or studio use for metal clay, glass fusing and enameling. The firing surface is 3" in diameter by 1 ½" high the element produces a working temperature of 1550 F. The kiln body consists of a high insulation ceramic fiber. Spatula and instructions included. Recommended for professional adult use only. 120V.
Extensive testing shows that the heat distribution in the new SC-2 is more even throughout the firing chamber because there are two separate heating elements in the sides of the chamber, but none in the back, preventing heat build-up. The high-tech ceramic fiber firing chamber is wrapped in a steel inner case. The outer steel case remains cool due to the layer of air between it and the inner case. In addition, the case is slotted for air circulation. Electrical components, located in the base, stay cool even at extended hold times.
Each SC-2 includes one 1/4” thick ceramic fiber shelf.
