  1. Very Easy to Use! Review by Amanda

I've had my E3 for a few months, and am always amazed at the results. As the others have said, I find the E3 much safer, and cleaner than other methods of etching. I'm glad I invested in this tool, and am sure it will provide many years of use! Once you get into the swing of things, it's so easy to pop a piece of metal into the pan, and let it etch while you are working on other projects...then voila! it's ready, and you can put another piece in. Thanks for a great product, it was well worth the money spent! light and love-amanda (Posted on 3/18/10)

  2. What a fantastic project! Review by Nicolle J.

Etching was something that I always wanted to get involved with but was so hesitant because of the dangerous chemicals involved.
When I saw this kit, I couldn't order it fast enough! Not only is everything included to get you started, I love the fact that the copper sulfate is less harmful and in addition can be used over and over again.
I received my kit a few weeks again and I am having such fun etching all sorts of designs in copper (soon to be silver too)!

Thanks again for such a wonderful product!

  3. A great way to etch copper, brass, silver and metal clays Review by Nancy

If you want to etch metal clay, this is the way to go. Etching with ferric chloride or nitric acid is impossible with metal clay as the chemicals are absorbed by the clays and continue to etch after removal. With the E3, the etching process stops when the power is turned off. It is also safer, cleaner and more economical, in the long run. The copper sulfate used with the E3 is reusable and can be re-hydrated over and over again. The E3 produces crisp lines and the resist doesn't lift off like with ferric chloride. I've etched multiple pieces at one time and they have come out perfectly. Time wise - it's similar to ferric chloride but the clean up is much, much easier. Copper sulfate is less toxic and less hazardous than both ferric chloride and nitric acid. In my opinion, the E3 is the best way to etch copper, brass, silver and metal clays. (Posted on 9/10/09)
